I’m in a group show with former London College of Communication classmates next week, anybody is welcome to come next Friday 13th May. I’ve been looking to show my work for no costs in the shopping centre at Elephant & Castle for a while now and this opportunity sprang up, so I was keen to help. It was my classmate Valentina’s idea and Royal College of Art (RCA) curation-student Camilla is the driving force behind our show, called ‘The Opportunity Area’.

Our show forms part of larger ‘Studio at the Elephant’, a three-month drop-in studio with events and activities run by an RCA graduate and her friend, a photographer, Rebecca and Eva.

We managed to get our space in the shopping centre for free, and so far the costs of mounting the exhibition have been around £10 for each of the nine participants. You can’t get much better than that. Yes, it is the equivalent of a methadone clinic for lost-in-London MA graduates like me looking to get a sleepy exhibition fix onto their cvs, but it really promises to be a cracking exhibition.

Update: I was interviewed with Valentina for Resonance FM, a local London station, about our show and our work on Friday 20th May.
